United States is looking at ways to increase the local economy through the improving of manufacturing opportunities. Are we looking closely at all sectors or is the main goal the big companies?
Architecture and construction constitute 19% of the economy, depending on the location. Though it is an important sector, its economic growth has decreased by 12% in the last years. However, design and construction model of business has a multiplier effect per investment made which creates a chain that impacts sub-contracts, employment and material purchase. This is why government and federal programs are spending in the industry increasing funds from 20% to 40% helping to have a quick improvement in the economy. But where is the money? Innovation trends and global presence make some clients and professionals research for products and contractors from other states or overseas. This trend is totally valid but not a wise move for the economy.
